If you want to get somewhere, you have to run twice as fast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since standing still isn\u2019t our style, less than two months have passed since our last release, and we\u2019re already ready to introduce LMS Collaborator 3.3 to you. Brace yourselves, because there are a lot of new features \u2014 especially those related to the new design \u2014 and there\u2019s no longer a button in this version to switch back to the old one. So let\u2019s get started!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"User_groups\"><\/span><b>User groups<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve been with us for a while, you know that previously, in order for users to be added to a folder in the organizational structure, you had to create it and configure the rules governing its operation. We determined who exactly should be added to it based on four criteria: city, position, department, and tags.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, these could have been administrators who lived in Vinnytsia and belonged to the third department. Accordingly, the system added all users who matched these criteria to the folder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, working with the organizational structure has become even more flexible. We simply create folders, and then, to populate them, we add user groups, which are displayed on a separate page in a table format. In other words, they\u2019re all gathered in one place. To do this, click the \u201cAdd\u201d button, enter a name and a brief description, and select a scope. We can:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add users manually<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set group rules<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first case, you select specific users who, for one reason or another, need to be added to this group. Next, go to the \u201cStatus\u201d column. Here, you\u2019ll see options such as \u201cInclude\u201d or \u201cExclude.\u201d Select the first option if you want to add employees specifically from Dnipro. Also, none of the four attributes is required. In other words, if you do not specify the required tags, the group will operate solely based on the specified rules. In this case, any tag \u2014 or the absence of a tag \u2014 will be considered valid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To view all users in our new group, click <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the \u201cActions\u201d button, where they are displayed in a table. All we need to do is select an existing group from the list and use it wherever it&#8217;s needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Migrating_the_organizational_structure_to_the_new_design\"><\/span><b>Migrating the organizational structure to the new design<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gradually, step by step, our system is being updated both visually and, of course, in terms of usability. In this case, we create groups and manually add them to folders. Please note that we don\u2019t need to select which users will be included here, as we did before. We simply click \u201cSave\u201d and proceed to work with the folder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, we have two options: either add employees manually or select from the list and import user groups already in the system. However, the process works a little differently for users who were added to the folder based on a rule. These users are removed only if the original rule is changed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can apply many different groups to a single folder at the same time. However, there is an important detail to keep in mind. If we select a group that is already being used in another folder, a conflict will arise. To resolve this, you must either leave the affected users in only one of these groups or add them to the desired folder manually.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, the rules haven&#8217;t really changed \u2014 they&#8217;re just configured differently now. This means that when updates are released, you won&#8217;t lose your previous structure, since it will automatically adapt to your existing groups and folders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Option \u21162: Import-based mode<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is done using a CSV file or through API integration with the service you need. The method is very simple and can be implemented in just a few clicks.
