    Development of corporate culture with the help of LMS Collaborator: KNESS Group experience

    Development of corporate culture is a necessary condition for effective activity of any company. Without a well-formed corporate culture companies will not be able to achieve desired success in the long term.

    How through the portal of e-learning system can support and develop the corporate culture of a large company? We asked Hannah Kozir, manager of internal corporate communications at KNESS Group, about this and other things.

    About KNESS Group:

    KNESS Group, an international group of companies founded in Ukraine, develops and implements traditional and renewed energy projects.
    The need for tools for communications and distance learning arose when the geography of the company expanded beyond the Vinnytsia region, and the number of people in the staff has increased dramatically.
    Today the company has over 1,000 employees working in 14 regions of Ukraine.

    – Do you use the portal as a system for staff training or are you more focused on creating and developing a corporate culture?

    – The portal is focused on the development of corporate culture and is aimed at informing about the goals of the company, raising awareness of the mission, vision, values.

    – What target audience is the portal designed for? How many employees are registered on the portal?

    – Our portal is designed for all employees. Today there are over 800 users: from TOP level managers to production line employees and facilities employees.

    – Can you tell us about your corporate culture? And your corporate values.

    – The field of responsibility of our group of companies is participation in creating a new energy architecture and ensuring a new, previously unprecedented, level of energy availability. This is the way to global changes in human consciousness and interaction between people. Our mission is to implement these civilizational changes, to decarbonize the energy sector and to give people access to the clean energy that powers the world. Every decision we make is focused on achieving this mission. And we move forward guided by shared values.

    Everything starts with the responsibility of everyone: responsibility for the result, for added value and development of clean energy in Ukraine and in the world. Individual responsibility is combined into collective responsibility around shared values and forms a team. Team synergy helps to achieve the goals. Our actions build our reputation due to which we are trusted. We do not accept the average result, but strive for the highest standards, supporting and developing innovations. We are convinced: all our innovations are for people and about people. Investment of resources in improving the quality of life of people provides a significant development in the whole world. Thus, everything we do today will have a positive impact on the quality of life of the generations to come.

    – Most of the materials you upload to the portal are the courses you take or are they open materials in the Knowledge Base?

    – Most of the materials are in the open access in the Knowledge Base.

    – What type of content do you post in the Knowledge Base?

    – Information that each employee must necessarily know about the company, about the team, about the mission), the internal rules and wayfarers. In addition – material from the corporate magazine, educational articles about our industry, lists of recommended literature. Also in the knowledge base posted photos and video materials from our events, selected organization documents, memos, behaviour rules.

    – Do you use the forum and surveys to support communication among employees?

    – The forum is usable. Employees have the opportunity to independently create topics for discussion and address issues to the company’s management. For more active communication is not enough opportunities for comments and likes for news. For descriptions, we use more Google forms.

    – How has your company’s corporate culture changed after the distance learning system was implemented?

    – Awareness of the company’s plans and goals, events and innovations, etc. has increased.

    – What positive changes in the company can be attested to as a result of the implementation of the e-learning system?

    – It is positive that employees know what is going on in other departments, colleagues, group of companies, they know whom to contact, where to find contacts of a desired representative. Earlier, when the team was small – all the questions could be resolved by coming to the neighbor’s office. Now that the staff of over 1000 employees, who work in different offices in different cities – the portal, database and a book of contacts can quickly find the information you need (from the regulatory documents and vacation request form, to order a car for the deputation, lunch, or instructions for the installation of automatic signature)

    – What areas do you plan to further develop the portal?

    – Integration of corporate persona, development of training courses for staff training, automation of the process of adding/blocking accounts by linking them to the HR accounting system.
